Minor in Economics
Why Do a Minor in Economics?
If you are interested in the analytical methods employed in economics, finance, and actuarial science, then the economics minor is for you. The study of economics will give you the quantitative foundation to pursue an MA in economics or an MS in finance as well as an MBA. The importance of economic inquiry has been recognized by the Nobel Foundation with the annual conferring of the Memorial Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Economics is the only social science with this distinction; most of the recipients of this prize have been American.
Talking the Talk and Walking the Walk
- You will be able to back up your qualitative “talk” with the quantitative “walk”.
- You will be more mathematically prepared for jobs that are more quantitatively oriented.
